Why California Isn't the Best Place to Chase Your Dream Anymore

"Why California Isn't the Best Place to Chase Your Dream Anymore".

By Jeffrey Barkey

For decades, California was the land of opportunity. Hollywood made actors famous. Silicon Valley created billionaires. Musicians, entrepreneurs, and dreamers packed their cars and headed west believing success was waiting just around the corner.

Today, that dream looks very different.

While California still offers incredible opportunities for some people, it's becoming harder than ever for the average person to build a life, grow a business, or simply get ahead financially.

Here's why I believe California isn't the best place to chase your dream anymore.

The Cost of Living Can Crush Big Dreams

Dreams require time.

Time requires money.

In California, many people spend so much of their income on housing, gas, insurance, groceries, and taxes that there's very little left to invest in themselves.

Instead of writing books, starting YouTube channels, learning new skills, or launching businesses, many people work overtime just to pay rent.

It's difficult to chase your dream when survival becomes your full-time job.

Starting a Business Costs More

Entrepreneurs often discover that everything costs more in California.

  • Business licenses

  • Commercial rent

  • Workers' compensation

  • Insurance

  • Payroll

  • Utilities

  • Professional services

A business that might survive in another state can struggle under California's higher operating costs.

Many successful companies have expanded or relocated portions of their operations elsewhere in search of lower expenses.

Housing Prices Create Constant Stress

Buying a home has become unrealistic for many first-time buyers.

Rent continues to consume a significant portion of many households' income.

When your housing payment eats up half your paycheck, saving for investments, equipment, education, or retirement becomes much harder.

Financial stress also affects creativity.

People create their best work when they aren't constantly worried about making next month's rent.

Long Commutes Steal Valuable Time

California traffic is legendary.

Some people spend two or more hours every day commuting.

Imagine using those same hours to:

  • Build a YouTube channel

  • Write a novel

  • Learn coding

  • Start an online business

  • Exercise

  • Spend time with family

Time is your most valuable asset, and long commutes quietly drain it away.

The Competition Is Intense

California attracts talented people from around the world.

That creates amazing innovation—but it also means competition is fierce.

Whether you're trying to become:

  • An actor

  • A musician

  • A startup founder

  • A photographer

  • A content creator

You'll likely compete against thousands of equally motivated people.

Competition isn't bad, but it means success often takes longer and costs more.

Technology Has Changed Everything

Years ago, moving to California gave people access to opportunities they couldn't find elsewhere.

Today?

You can:

  • Run an online business from almost anywhere.

  • Upload videos to YouTube from a small town.

  • Sell products worldwide.

  • Freelance remotely.

  • Build apps.

  • Publish books.

  • Take online classes.

  • Network through social media.

The internet has dramatically reduced the need to live in one specific state to pursue many careers.

Lower Costs Mean More Freedom

Imagine paying significantly less for housing.

Now imagine investing that difference every month into:

  • Camera equipment

  • Marketing

  • Online courses

  • Business software

  • Retirement

  • Emergency savings

Lower living expenses can create more flexibility to experiment, take calculated risks, and stick with your goals over the long term.

Success Isn't About Your ZIP Code

California doesn't determine whether you'll succeed.

Your consistency does.

Your willingness to learn does.

Your discipline does.

Plenty of successful people still thrive in California, and many others build fulfilling lives there. At the same time, countless entrepreneurs, creators, and professionals have found that relocating to a lower-cost area gave them more financial breathing room and a better quality of life.

The best place to chase your dream is the place that gives you the greatest chance to sustain it.

My Personal Perspective

As someone rebuilding after difficult life changes, I've learned that chasing a dream isn't just about ambition—it's also about creating a sustainable lifestyle.

Sometimes success isn't about moving to the biggest city.

Sometimes it's about reducing expenses, simplifying your life, and giving yourself the time and freedom to create.

For many people today, that place may not be California.

Final Thoughts

California remains one of the most beautiful and influential states in America. It continues to offer world-class entertainment, technology, culture, and natural beauty.

But if your dream depends on keeping costs low, maximizing your savings, and having time to build something meaningful, it's worth asking whether another state could give you a stronger foundation.

The dream hasn't disappeared.

It may have simply changed its address.

What do you think? Is California still the land of opportunity, or are better opportunities waiting somewhere else? Share your thoughts in the comments. I'm a California Native and I'm moving to North Carolina now. Are you a Californian also moving out?

Why I Never Gave Up on My Dream—and Why You Shouldn’t Either

My dream was always simple: I wanted to be an actor.

That passion led me into acting, modeling, and ultimately shaped who I am today—a confident content creator and outdoor influencer. Every experience, every setback, and every small win helped build the foundation I stand on now. And if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this: don’t get discouraged. Keep fighting for the life you want.

We’re living in a time where the rules have completely changed. Social media has created a new kind of celebrity—one that doesn’t rely on Hollywood gatekeepers. In many cases, influencers have more reach and impact than traditional A-list stars. Just look at MrBeast. His rise on YouTube is nothing short of incredible. He’s built an empire through creativity, consistency, and reinvesting into his content.

Now, I’ll be honest—it can feel intimidating. Competing with creators at that level can make anyone question themselves. But here’s the truth: I’m not here to compete with anyone. I’m here to do my own thing.

And that mindset changed everything.

I continue to act. I continue to create. I continue to show up on my platforms, no matter what. My YouTube channel, Backyard Off-Grid, currently has 2,490 subscribers as of writing this—and every single one of those subscribers matters. Growth may not always be fast, but it’s real.

The biggest mistake people make is thinking they need millions of followers to matter. You don’t.

There is someone out there right now who wants to see your content. Someone who will relate to your story. Someone who will be inspired because you chose not to quit.

Whether you’re posting text updates, photos, or reels on Facebook—or building out a full YouTube channel—it all counts. I personally run a professional account that allows me to earn based on engagement. It’s not life-changing money (yet), but every dollar earned goes right back into improving my content. And honestly? It makes the process even more enjoyable.

We’re already creating content every day—why not get paid for it?

That’s a principle even top creators follow. Reinvest, improve, repeat.

I may not be an A-list actor (yet), but I’m building something real. Something authentic. And in today’s world, that matters more than ever.

So if you’re chasing a dream—whether it’s acting, content creation, or something completely different—don’t stop.

Don’t compare.

Don’t quit.

Because you are enough. And your story is worth telling.

And to Hollywood and New York?

I’m just getting started.

Why I Started Content Creation During a Tough Economy

Why I Started Content Creation During a Tough Economy — And Why You Should Too

I usually don’t talk much about my finances.

Not because I’m hiding anything — but because like many people living in California, I’ve learned how quickly life can humble you.

This is one of the most opportunity-filled states in the country. But it’s also one of the most expensive places you can call home. And when life threw some unexpected challenges my way, I found myself in a position I never imagined…

Starting over.

I had to move back home and rebuild my life from the ground up. Pride takes a hit when that happens. You question yourself. You wonder how things unraveled so fast.

But tough seasons have a way of forcing clarity.

I realized something in that moment:

I never wanted my survival to depend on one paycheck again.

And that realization is exactly what pushed me into content creation.

Rock Bottom Can Become Your Launch Pad

When the economy tightens, everything feels uncertain. Prices go up. Stability goes down. Even people with “secure” careers start looking over their shoulder.

I didn’t want to live like that.

So instead of focusing on what I lost, I focused on what I could build.

I picked up a camera and started my YouTube channel, Backyard Off-Grid, where I show people how I survived starting over — and how living smarter can sometimes matter more than earning more.

Was I an expert YouTuber?

Not even close.

Did I have expensive equipment?

Nope.

What I did have was real-life experience… and a story that could help someone else feel less alone.

Here’s what many people don’t realize:

👉 You don’t need to be famous to be valuable.
You just need to be real.

Job Security Is Mostly a Myth

For years, we were sold the idea that loyalty to a job equals safety.

But look around.

Companies downsize. Industries shift. Entire careers disappear almost overnight.

The truth is — relying on one income stream is one of the biggest financial risks you can take today.

Content creation changed how I see money.

Instead of putting all my trust in one source, I started building digital assets:

  • A YouTube channel

  • A growing platform

  • Evergreen content

  • A personal brand

Things no employer can suddenly take away.

Followers are the new form of job security.

And the beautiful part?

Once you build an audience, opportunities start finding you.

You Already Have What You Need to Start

People love to overcomplicate content creation.

They think they need perfect lighting, a professional studio, or thousands of dollars in gear.

I started with what I had.

Most successful creators do.

Your phone is more powerful than the cameras Hollywood used not that long ago. Let that sink in.

In a tough economy, low-risk opportunities matter — and content creation is about as low-risk as it gets.

No storefront.
No massive startup loan.
No inventory.

Just you… showing up.

Multiple Income Streams Create Real Freedom

One paycheck creates pressure.

Multiple income streams create breathing room.

As I got deeper into the creator world, I realized something powerful — creators aren’t just posting videos.

They’re building ecosystems.

Today, creators can earn through:

  • Ad revenue

  • Affiliate partnerships

  • Brand deals

  • Digital products

  • Courses

  • Communities

You don’t have to build all of this overnight.

But every piece you create becomes a brick in something bigger — a financial future that isn’t controlled by a single employer.

Especially in an unpredictable economy, that kind of leverage is priceless.

Tough Times Are Actually the Best Time to Start

This might sound backward, but economic uncertainty creates massive opportunity.

Why?

Because most people freeze.

They wait for the “right time.”
They tell themselves they’ll start when things feel safer.

Meanwhile, the people willing to begin — even imperfectly — gain experience, momentum, and visibility.

By the time the economy rebounds…

They aren’t beginners anymore.

They’re positioned.

Looking back, starting during a challenging season was one of the smartest moves I could have made.

Fear keeps many people on the sidelines.

Consistency quietly changes lives.

Your Story Is More Valuable Than You Think

One of the biggest mental hurdles is believing you have nothing special to share.

I used to think that too.

But here’s what I’ve learned:

People don’t connect with perfection.

They connect with authenticity.

Your struggles.
Your rebuild.
Your lessons.
Your resilience.

That’s the kind of content people remember.

You never know who needs to hear your story until you tell it.

You Don’t Need Millions of Followers

Let me say something that might relieve some pressure:

You don’t need to go viral to change your life.

You just need to be consistent.

One video.
One post.
One lesson at a time.

Small audiences grow.

But the only creators guaranteed to fail are the ones who never start — or the ones who quit too early.

The Biggest Risk Today Might Be Playing It Safe

If the past few years have taught me anything, it’s this:

Playing it safe is not always safe.

Depending entirely on one income source leaves you exposed.

But creating something of your own?

That builds leverage.

It builds optionality.

It builds confidence.

Starting a content platform didn’t just give me another way to earn — it gave me a sense of control during a time when life felt anything but controllable.

And that alone is worth more than most people realize.

Final Thoughts: Start Before You Feel Ready

If you’re waiting for perfect conditions, you might be waiting forever.

Start messy.
Start nervous.
Start with doubts.

Just don’t stay stuck.

Because in a tough economy, the people who create are the ones who put themselves in position not just to survive…

But to thrive.

And if someone like me can rebuild and start creating after life knocked me down a few times…

Trust me — you can too.

When my YouTube channel was at two thousand subscribers I was approved to be an Amazon Influencer. Affiliate marketing is tough, but it was another opportunity to make money from my content. Feel free to check it out

Living on a Budget in California: How I’m Building an Off-Grid Life, One Day at a Time

Living on a Budget in California: How I’m Building an Off-Grid Life, One Day at a Time

I usually don’t talk much about my finances or how I live—especially in what feels like the most expensive state in America. But California is my home, and despite the high cost of living, I still love the opportunities it offers.

That said, loving California doesn’t mean ignoring reality. The rent is high. Gas is expensive. Groceries aren’t getting cheaper. And after moving back home following a bad divorce, I had to make some serious life decisions.

That’s when I started my YouTube channel, Backyard Off-Grid.

Why I Chose an Off-Grid, Minimalist Lifestyle

Backyard Off-Grid isn’t just about survival—it’s about adaptation. I show people how I’m rebuilding my life by living smarter, not harder. One of the first steps I took was opening a high-yield savings account so I could finally put money away and let it grow, instead of watching it disappear into bills.

I also decided to live out of my Jeep and car camp while working on the road. It wasn’t an easy choice, but it made sense. Less rent. More flexibility. More freedom.

Car Camping, Gig Work, and Thinking Long-Term

To make it work, my goal is simple: earn $200 a day doing gig jobs like Uber, Lyft, and DoorDash. It’s not glamorous, but it’s doable—and it gives me control over my time.

At the same time, I’m documenting the journey. Since I’m also a landlord, I’ve started reviewing motels and hotels, with a long-term vision of maybe owning a hotel one day. Yes, it sounds expensive. And no, it doesn’t happen overnight.

But big dreams never do.

Budget Travel in California Is Possible

I’ve been doing the research, and even in this economy, affordable options still exist. For example, a motel like Hotel Elevation in South Lake Tahoe at around $70 a night actually makes sense when you’re strategic. That’s cheaper than rent—and it keeps me mobile.

This is all part of acting and thinking like a millionaire on a budget.

From Acting to Content Creation

I pursued acting once, and honestly, that skill still helps me today. Whether it’s adapting to gig work, creating content, or showing up confidently on camera, I use it all on YouTube, TikTok, and social media—for work and for fun.

If I need to become a certain version of myself to get the job done, I can do that.

Hope for Anyone Struggling Right Now

Do I think my YouTube channel could take off and make me a million dollars one day? Maybe. I can dream, right?

What I do know is this: It is still possible to live in America—even in California—if you’re willing to budget, adapt, and stay disciplined.

I’m sharing this not to flex, but to offer hope. If you’re starting over, downsizing, or just trying to survive right now—you’re not alone.

Stay strong.
We’ve got this. 💪

Yes I wrote this in the Motel don't judge me lol. Thanks Hotel Elevation for accommodating my stay. 3 nights $212.08 plus a $75 deposit. Budget was $300 win win 🙏🏻 Praying for more snow and business for this place. Start a high yield savings account with SoFi. Merry Christmas.

👉 Example: Write product reviews, tutorials, or “best of” lists that rank on Google.

3. Freelancing & Remote Work

How to Go Viral on YouTube in 2025: 10 Proven Strategies for Massive Views

If you’ve ever dreamed of hitting 1 million views (or more) on a single YouTube video, you’re not alone. YouTube is the second-largest search engine in the world—and the biggest stage for creators to build audiences, income streams, and brands.

In 2025, going viral on YouTube isn’t just luck. It’s strategy, timing, and understanding exactly how the YouTube algorithm works.

Below are 10 proven tips that top creators like MrBeast, Ryan Trahan, and Airrack use to consistently rack up millions of views.

1. Nail the First 8 Seconds (YouTube Hook)

Primary keyword: YouTube hook, audience retention

The first 8 seconds can make or break your video. The algorithm rewards high audience retention, so grab attention instantly:

  • Use pattern interrupts: surprise, humor, or visual shock

  • Tell them exactly what’s coming

2. Ride Trending Topics

Primary keyword: trending YouTube topics 2025

Use YouTube’s Trending page, Google Trends, and VidIQ to spot what’s blowing up. Post fast to capitalize on momentum.

3. Create Click-Worthy Thumbnails

Primary keyword: YouTube thumbnail tips

Your thumbnail is the first impression.

  • Use bright, high-contrast colors

  • Big facial expressions

  • 3–4 words max in text

4. Keyword-Rich Titles

Primary keyword: SEO for YouTube, viral video titles

Example:
“My Day at the Beach”
“I Survived 24 Hours on a Deserted Island”

5. Focus on Watch Time

Primary keyword: YouTube watch time tips

Encourage viewers to watch more by making series content or teasing the next video.

6. Stay Consistent

Primary keyword: YouTube posting schedule

Consistency tells YouTube you’re a reliable creator—and trains your audience to expect new content.

7. Collaborate With Other Creators

Primary keyword: YouTube collab ideas

Even small creators can collab—trade shoutouts, make videos together, or join the same challenge.

8. Use YouTube Shorts for Growth

Primary keyword: YouTube Shorts viral tips

Post vertical, under-60-second videos daily to get discovered by viewers who’ve never seen your channel before.

9. Add Strong CTAs

Primary keyword: YouTube engagement tips

Tell viewers exactly what you want:

  • Like

  • Comment

  • Subscribe

  • Watch next

10. Study What’s Already Viral

Primary keyword: viral YouTube video examples

Analyze:

  • The hook

  • Pacing

  • Emotional trigger

Bonus: YouTube SEO Checklist

  1. Title: Use your main keyword naturally

  2. Description: 150+ words with related keywords

  3. Tags: Broad + niche

  4. Closed Captions: Full transcript

  5. Playlists: Keep people watching

Final Thoughts

Going viral on YouTube in 2025 is all about creating emotional, shareable content and optimizing for the YouTube algorithm. If you hook viewers, keep them watching, and make videos worth sharing, you’ll set yourself up for massive growth.

I currently run three YouTube channels. One of my Shorts went viral, and my main channel, Backyard Off-Grid, has received over 1 million visits. Now, I’ve set myself a 90-day challenge to grow my gaming channel, Backyard Games, to one million subscribers.

Don’t give up—success takes time, effort, and consistency. It’s a lot of work, but absolutely possible.

💡 Tip: Even if you don’t go viral, being a YouTuber comes with real benefits. My YouTube channel Backyard Off-Grid helped me get accepted into the Amazon Influencer Program, where I earn a commission on purchases made through my Amazon Storefront: https://www.amazon.com/shop/backyardoff-grid.

I’m an actor, influencer, and content creator. My advice? Have fun, keep creating, and grow your channel step by step.

Veteran Creator Life: How I Monetize Every Platform I Use

 By Jeffrey Barkey

Actor | Veteran | Creator | Roblox Developer / Author

🧠 From Combat Boots to Content Creation

After serving in the military, life didn’t just slow down — it hit me with a different kind of war: PTSD, financial instability, and a constant search for purpose.

But instead of letting that weigh me down, I adapted. I took my skills, grit, and story — and turned them into content across multiple platforms.

Today, I monetize my journey. Here's how I’m building income across YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, Blogging, Amazon, and Roblox — as a disabled veteran creator.

🎥 1. YouTube – Even Without 1,000 Subs

Even if you're not in the YouTube Partner Program (YPP), you can still make money:

  • Affiliate links in descriptions

  • Driving traffic to Amazon Influencer storefront

  • Repurposing Shorts on TikTok and FB Reels

🔗 Example: I post videos on acting, Jeep camper life, and game dev, then link to gear I use via Amazon.

Experiment with different channels. I have three. Jeffrey Barkey (39) for Acting. Backyard Off-Grid (2,485 subscribers) for camping, diy, product review and survival. Then Backyard games (69) for my Roblox Dev content. Don't give up! 3-5 videos a week.

📱 2. TikTok – High Engagement, Fast Traffic

TikTok is where I build trust fast. With 2,400+ followers, I:

  • Link to my blog or storefront via “link in bio”

  • Showcase Amazon products, Roblox games, or content behind-the-scenes

  • Reuse Shorts from YouTube and Facebook

💡 Tip: Use trending audio + text overlays. One viral TikTok can explode traffic to your blog/store.

🧾 3. Blogging with AdSense + Amazon = Passive Income

My blog jeffreybarkeyactor.blogspot.com is monetized with:

  • Google AdSense ads

  • Amazon Influencer links (earn a commission)

  • Product reviews and gear guides

✅ Example Posts:

  • How to Break Into The Acting Industry

  • Veteran Creator Setup Under $100

  • My PTSD-Friendly Daily Tech Setup

📈 These posts bring recurring monthly income, especially if ranked on Google.

🛒 4. Amazon Influencer Program – No Inventory Needed

As a creator, I don’t need to buy and resell — I just recommend products I already use.

💰 I earn commission every time someone shops through my:

🎯 Categories I focus on:

  • Acting gear

  • Creator gadgets

  • Jeep camper life

  • Roblox dev tools

🕹 5. Roblox Game Development – Creative & Profitable

I develop games on Roblox — like Land Mine Obby, Lava Tower Obby — and monetize through:

  • In-game purchases

  • Game passes

  • Dev-ex (Robux → USD)

Even simple games can earn big if promoted well.

🚗 6. Facebook Reels + Monetization

Facebook Reels are another income stream:

  • I repost Shorts + TikToks

  • Engage with veteran groups

  • Link to my blog or Amazon store

📌 Bonus: Facebook Content Monetization for all content(if eligible). Start receiving stars at 1000 followers.

🔁 How I Repurpose Content Across Platforms

One video = 5+ monetization opportunities:

PlatformPurpose
TikTok        Build trust, go viral
YouTube Shorts        Drive to blog/storefront
Facebook Reels        Earn bonuses, expand reach
Blog        Longform SEO income
Amazon                            Direct product sales
Roblox        Game monetization

🛠 Tools I Use

Want to follow in my footsteps? Here’s my creator stack:

💡 Final Thoughts: You Don’t Need a Team

I don’t have a team or big production. Just a story, a phone, and drive.

If you’re a veteran, artist, or just someone trying to break free — you can do this too. Start with what you have. Build as you go.

Your life is content. Monetize it.

What Aspiring Actors Can Learn from Sydney Sweeney’s Rise to Fame

What Aspiring Actors Can Learn from Sydney Sweeney’s Rise to Fame

Let’s talk about Sydney Sweeney. From “Euphoria” to “Anyone But You,” she’s more than just a trending name—she’s a masterclass in how to build a serious acting career in today’s hyper-competitive world.

1. She Didn’t Wait for Permission

Before Hollywood knew her name, Sydney submitted a full five-year business plan to her parents at 12 years old explaining why she should pursue acting. She didn’t wait for an agent to find her. She took action.

Takeaway: Don’t wait for opportunity—start creating your own content, building your network, and refining your craft today.

2. She Diversifies

Sydney doesn’t just act—she produces through her company Fifty-Fifty Films. She’s involved in brand deals, fashion, and storytelling. That’s smart business.

Takeaway: The modern actor is more than a performer—they’re a brand. Own it.

3. She’s Authentic (Even Online)

Whether she’s in full glam on the red carpet or wrenching on vintage cars in her garage, Sydney keeps it real. That kind of rawness makes her relatable—and it builds trust.

Takeaway: Don’t fake it online. Be the real you. Your authenticity is your greatest asset.

4. She’s Proof You Don’t Need to “Fit In”

Sydney’s not your typical Hollywood starlet. And that’s why people love her. She’s vulnerable. Quirky. Sometimes misunderstood. And she’s owning it.

Takeaway: Stop trying to be the next “someone else.” Be the first you.

Want to Be Next? Here’s Your Move

If you’re an aspiring actor reading this, take this moment seriously. Study people like Sydney—but then create your own path. Make short films, post monologues, build your online presence, and never stop improving.

Start a YouTube channel and start building your personal brand.

🎬 Why Models and Actors Should Join the Amazon Influencer Program in 2025

In today’s digital world, models and actors are no longer just seen on runways or on screen — they’re building personal brands, growing audiences, and monetizing content in smart, sustainable ways. One of the most overlooked yet powerful tools in your toolkit? The Amazon Influencer Program.

Whether you're a full-time creative or just starting out, here's why every model and actor should consider becoming an Amazon Influencer in 2025.

💰 1. Create Passive Income Without a Side Hustle

Let’s face it — the entertainment industry can be unpredictable. The Amazon Influencer Program gives you the ability to earn commission by simply recommending products you already love or use on set, in auditions, or in your day-to-day routine.

  • Promote fashion, makeup, camera gear, fitness items, or books

  • Earn when people buy through your custom Amazon storefront

  • No inventory, no shipping, no customer service

📌 Example: Share your favorite audition-ready makeup or a “What’s in my model bag” list — and get paid when others shop it.

📸 2. You’re Already an Influencer — Monetize It

As a model or actor, you already influence people. Whether you're posting behind-the-scenes footage, outfit-of-the-day looks, or skincare routines — your audience trusts your taste.

The Amazon Influencer Program lets you:

  • Create curated lists (e.g., “On-Camera Must-Haves,” “Red Carpet Skin Prep”)

  • Earn commission on all qualifying sales

  • Build credibility with a professional Amazon storefront under your name

💡 Even with a small following, you can earn consistent commissions with the right content strategy.

🎥 3. Promote Products You Don’t Even Own (and Still Get Paid)

Unlike some programs, Amazon doesn’t require you to buy or test every product you promote — as long as you’re honest.

  • Use customer reviews and social proof

  • Recommend highly rated products relevant to your niche

  • Create content like “Top 5 Budget Studio Lights for Actors”

This is perfect for content creators just starting out who want to grow and earn without upfront investment.

📈 4. Boost Your Personal Brand & Visibility

Your Amazon storefront becomes an extension of your personal brand. It’s clean, customizable, and builds trust — especially if you’re promoting yourself to agencies, brands, or potential clients.

  • Add your storefront to your Linktree or bio

  • Mention it in YouTube videos, TikToks, or Instagram stories

  • Use it as a professional affiliate resource in partnerships or sponsorships

🔥 Bonus: Many brands search Amazon storefronts for potential collaborations.

🎯 5. It’s Easy, Legit, and Backed by Amazon

You’re working with a trusted global platform. There are no shady contracts, complicated setups, or middlemen. Once approved, you can start adding products and earning immediately.

  • Reliable tracking and payouts

  • Amazon handles customer service

  • No product fulfillment needed

👠 What Can You Promote as a Model or Actor?

Here are just a few high-performing ideas:

Category Examples
Fashion Loungewear, casting outfits, on-set jackets
Beauty Skincare, on-camera makeup, and, lighting-friendly foundations
Tech Ring lights, tripods, camera gear
Wellness Supplements, posture correctors, recovery tools
Books Acting techniques, mindset guides, fashion inspiration

🎬 Final Thoughts

The Amazon Influencer Program isn’t just for YouTubers or tech reviewers — it’s a smart, low-effort income stream perfectly suited to models and actors. Whether you’re building your personal brand, navigating unpredictable gigs, or just looking for more control over your income, this is a no-brainer.

Your audience is already watching — now it’s time to give them something they can click on.

How to Make $1,000 a Week Selling Candles: A Step-by-Step Guide

Are you passionate about candle making and dreaming of turning your hobby into a thriving business? Reaching $1,000 a week in candle sales is entirely possible—with the right strategy, persistence, and a little creative marketing! Here’s how you can achieve (and even exceed) your weekly sales goal. I'm an Entrepreneur, Actor, Promotional Model, Author, and Candle Maker. Here is what I've learned.
1. Perfect Your Candle (and Your Brand)- Test Your Products: Make sure your candles have great scent throw, burn evenly, and are made with quality ingredients.- Stand Out: Design unique containers, offer eco-friendly options, or provide custom/personalized labels.- Pricing: Aim for at least a 3x markup. If each candle costs you $5 to make (materials + packaging + labor), sell them at $15-$20.
2. Calculate Your Numbers
To make $1,000, you need:- If your candle sells for $20 → Sell 50 candles per week.- If your candle sells for $25 → Sell 40 candles per week.Break it down further: That’s about 6-8 candles per day.
3. Find Your Customers- Start Locally: Tell friends, family, and neighbors. Visit local gift shops or attend farmers markets and craft fairs.- Retail Partnerships: Ask boutiques or salons to stock your candles on consignment or wholesale.- Hosting Events: Host candle-making workshops; sell your products before, during, and after class.
4. Build Your Online Presence
- Create a High-Quality Website: Use platforms like Shopify, Etsy, or even Instagram Shopping.- Post Daily:Share behind-the-scenes content, customer reviews, how-to videos, and beautiful candle photos.- Email Marketing: Collect emails for special offers and launch announcements.
5. Power Up Your Social Media
- Visual Channels:Focus on Instagram, TikTok, and Pinterest. Beautiful candles photograph well!- Go Live: Show how you make your candles or answer questions live to get people invested in your story.  I go live on Whatnot, Tik Tok and YouTube.- Collaborate:Work with influencers or other makers for giveaways or co-created products.
6. Offer Limited Editions and Bundles
- Seasonal Scents: Offer exclusive collections for holidays and special occasions.- Bundles: Sell 3-packs or subscription boxes for a discounted price (but larger sale per transaction).- Personalization:Offer custom scents, colors, or labels for events like weddings or birthdays.
7. Track, Learn, and Grow
- Measure Everything:Use tools (Shopify, Etsy stats, Google Analytics) to track best-sellers and customer trends.- Ask for Reviews:Social proof helps future customers trust and buy your candles.- Iterate:Notice what works and double down! Experiment with new scents, packaging, or markets.Final Thoughts
Your first $1,000 week is totally achievable with focus and action. Build relationships—with customers and partners—offer irresistible products, and market yourself consistently. The market for candles is bright—set your goals high and light the path to your success!
Ready to get started? Drop your questions below or share your journey—let’s build your candle business, one sale at a time!

How to Break Into Acting (Even If You Have ZERO Experience)

🎭

Let’s get one thing straight: you don’t need to be famous, rich, or classically trained to start acting.

In 2025, anyone with a smartphone, passion, and a little hustle can break into the acting industry. It’s more accessible than ever—and I’m going to show you exactly how to get started, even if you’re starting from scratch.

💡 Why Acting Is More Open Than Ever

There was a time when becoming an actor meant moving to LA, getting an agent, and hoping you got noticed.

Not anymore.

Thanks to social media, streaming platforms, and independent productions, the acting world is wide open. You just need to know how to step in.

✅ 1. Start with Local Gigs You Can Actually Get

Don’t wait for Hollywood. Look in your backyard.

🎭 Community theater
🎬 Student films
📽️ Short films posted on local casting boards

These opportunities may not pay much (or at all), but they give you experience, credits, and clips you can use to build a reel.

🛠 Tip: Search “[your city] + casting call” or join Facebook groups like Local Actors + Filmmakers.

✅ 2. Do Background Work (Get Paid, Get Seen)

You can literally get paid to be on a film set, even with no experience.

Being an extra is one of the easiest ways to:

  • Learn how sets work

  • Network with crew and cast

  • Get listed in real film credits

📍 Sites to check:

✅ 3. Build a Free Portfolio with Just Your Phone

No excuses. You don’t need a $1,000 headshot session or fancy gear. Use your smartphone to:

  • Take clean, natural photos (headshots)

  • Record monologues or short scenes

  • Upload to YouTube or Vimeo

💡 Remember: Casting directors want to see YOU—not filters, fancy edits, or distractions.

✅ 4. Use Social Media to Show Your Skills

TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts are talent launchpads. There are actors who landed agents, auditions, even Netflix roles—just from going viral.

Try posting:

  • Dramatic monologues

  • Comedic scenes

  • Character skits

  • Duets with other creators

👀 You never know who’s watching.

✅ 5. Take an Online Acting Class (or Three)

Before you spend $5,000 on acting school, try a few low-cost or free classes online:

  • YouTube channels like The Acting Studio or Acting Career Center

  • Platforms like Udemy, Skillshare, or MasterClass

  • Even TikTok acting coaches!

🎯 Focus on:

  • Scene study

  • Cold reading

  • Self-tapes

  • Audition tips

✅ 6. Say YES to the Small Stuff

That unpaid short film? The awkward student project? The indie horror with a $200 budget?

Do it. Every project is a chance to:

  • Practice your craft

  • Build your resume

  • Add footage to your reel

  • Meet collaborators

🎬 Small roles lead to bigger ones.

✅ 7. Build Your Acting Resume (Even as a Beginner)

Start simple. You can include:

  • Community theater roles

  • Student films

  • Acting classes or workshops

  • Any special skills (accents, dancing, stunts, etc.)

Combine it with your headshot and demo reel, and you’re ready to submit!

Final Thoughts: 🎤 Don’t Wait to Be Discovered—Start Creating

If you’ve got a phone, a voice, and the drive to learn—you can start today.

The biggest myth in acting? That you need permission to begin.

You don’t.

🎬 Act. Record. Share. Repeat.
2025 is YOUR year to become the actor you’ve always dreamed of being.

👉 Want help finding your first monologue, building a portfolio, or writing an actor bio? Ask me how I did it. I was in this movie called Shake Off The World. I also was a background actor and an extra in a few other movies. Acting was always my dream. Now I'm a content creator, Author, and YouTuber. You don't need Hollywood or New York City to get started.

The power of AI! Why you should be using it!

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is no longer some far-off, futuristic concept—it’s here, it’s powerful, and it’s changing how we live and work every single day. From automating repetitive tasks to making smarter decisions, AI is quickly becoming one of the most valuable tools available to individuals and businesses alike. I use AI myself to get new ideas on acting, modeling, and content that's trending.

If you're not using AI yet, here's why you should seriously consider starting today.

1. Save Time on Repetitive Tasks

Let’s face it: time is one of our most valuable resources. AI tools can handle tasks that once took hours—like writing emails, sorting data, editing photos, or even managing your calendar—in minutes.

Imagine uploading a batch of customer emails and having an AI summarize the key issues and draft responses automatically. That’s not science fiction. That’s 2025.

2. Unlock Next-Level Creativity

Writers, designers, marketers, and content creators are using AI to brainstorm faster, generate visuals, write blog posts (like this one!), and create content at scale. You’re still the visionary—AI is just the ultimate creative assistant.

Need 10 ad variations? A new logo? An outline for your next video? Done in seconds.

3. Make Smarter Business Decisions

AI doesn’t just crunch data—it can uncover patterns and insights that would take humans weeks to find. From predicting customer behavior to improving supply chains or spotting financial trends, AI helps businesses stay ahead of the curve.

Think of it as having a supercharged analyst working 24/7.

4. Improve Customer Experience

Chatbots, personalized shopping recommendations, voice assistants—these are all powered by AI. Brands that use AI for customer service are seeing higher satisfaction rates and more conversions, simply because AI helps give people what they want, faster.

Happy customers = growing business.

5. Stay Competitive

Your competitors are already using AI. Whether you’re a small business, a solopreneur, or part of a big team, AI can help you do more with less and stay ahead of the competition.

Not adopting AI could mean falling behind while others accelerate.

6. You Don’t Need to Be a Tech Expert

This is the best part—today’s AI tools are user-friendly and often require no coding or tech background at all. Many are plug-and-play, with simple interfaces and tons of tutorials.

If you can use Google or Canva, you can use AI.

Final Thoughts: AI Isn’t Replacing You—It’s Empowering You

AI is here to stay, and the sooner you embrace it, the more you’ll benefit. Whether you want to work smarter, create faster, or grow your business, AI is your ally—not your enemy.

Start exploring. Start experimenting. Start now.
